We help prevent skin cancer by providing education and distributing sunscreen.
We also provide visual aids such as prescription glasses or magnifying glasses.
People with albinism have very poor vision (10%) and the eyes are very light sensitive.
We provide several schools with vision-enhancing tools.
Such as prescription glasses and magnifying glasses.
With these, we make the learning process as optimal as possible.
Tanzania lies on the equator so the sun is very powerful. Because people with albinism have little or no pigment in their skin they burn quickly. As a result, 90% do not live beyond the age of 30 due to skin cancer. Our projects focus on prevention through sun creams, skin checks, sun hats and body covering clothes.
